My Story

Gene Keys: "Based on the system of I Ching, Astrology and Life Design the power of Gene Keys lies in the discovery of the true nature of your being." Arriving at grandma's summer home in Twin Lakes Wisconsin, a family excitedly planned out their day of events. "Hey did you see that beautiful bird in the yard" the daughter reported. Scurrying the two bulldogs running loose in the yard inside, mom, a chicken and dog rescuer herself, went to check it out. There was Gina, a lovely creamy colored pigeon with a band wrapped around the tiny ankle. As the family would later discover, Gina flew in from Detroit Michigan. Gene(Gina!) Keys is a code book of "pitfalls and potentials." Pigeons are known for their fierce sense of survival and their amazing intelligence. That aura of wisdom and awareness surrounded Gina. Staking out a place on the roof for 4 or 5 days, Gina took time to assess the safety of giving up to the tiredness and hunger that gnawed inside. Mom's rescue instinct took over and she carefully climbed a ladder to the roof and easily picked up Gina. Friendly, gentle, and sweet right from the beginning is how our fantastic foster family describes Gina. Now free from the harsh life of a racing pigeon, Gina wants a forever family to pen the last chapter of the journey. Surviving hawks and eagles and blistering hot sun hunger and thirst, Gina is a true survivor! A forever home would do quite nicely just about now - Living way beyond potential is in this pigeon’s genes!
