Ahmos

Ahmos just arrived from our shelter in Cairo, Egypt in Mid May, 2024. He is guesstimated to be around 8 years old. He currently weighs 11bs. He just received all of his boosters at the vet in the States. This poor guy has had a difficult life. We learned that he has terrible teeth due to lack of care and poor nutrition living on the streets. It explains his drooling and the staining near his lips. (We suspect the staining will fade after his dental and new hair will grow in time.) He will need a very expensive dental that involves extraction of all his teeth to give him the life that he deserves. We have scheduled this appointment for the first week of June. We have also treated him for ear mites, and other than his upcoming dental, he has a clean bill of health. Removal of his teeth will take a few weeks to fully heal but will not effect him negatively. Ahmos is still learning about life in America and learning that people are here to care for him. He will need someone with a big heart and lots of love to give him the security he needs to feel safe. If you would like to sponsor Ahmos, we would be so very grateful. The cost of bringing him to safety, vetting, and his upcoming dental is very costly. We would appreciate any help you can provide us. Please note that we do require screening and verifiable references before a meet and greet and at-home visit is ever approved. Approved applicants must travel to our location in Chicago before we proceed with our in-home visit/ adoption. Due to our in-home visit requirements, we are only adopting within a set 20-mile radius near our location in the city of Chicago, IL. We will ONLY consider applicants who have filled out our emailed application in full and abide by our rescue protocol. We will not arrange any meet and greets unless all references have been checked and applicants have been approved. We are not accepting or offering ANY phone inquiries. We do require cats under 1 year of age to be adopted in pairs unless there is already a cat in the home.
