Andy & Avery were trapped, spayed and returned to their colony where they quite happily lived in a heated garage with the ability to go outside if they wanted. Eventually the caregivers moved away with not much more than a box or two left behind for shelter. The new property owner contacted Carma for help with the cats on their property and we responded right away as it was winter but by the time we arrived 10 out of the 15 colony cats had succumbed to the elements because of the lack of shelter, food and water. Andy and Avery are two of the lucky ones and we would love to find them a home where they don’t have to worry about staying warm or finding their next meal! They are still pretty scared but will accept pets while eating their daily dose of wet food warmed up just right by their foster mom or the most coveted squeeze up treat but their adopter must be prepared to build the trust that their caregivers lost when they abandoned them without any tools to survive. They need a quiet home without young children. Avery is special needs as she has an over active thyroid and takes Felimazole twice a day. She is easy to medicate because of her love of squeeze up treats she comes running to her foster mom for the pill hidden in the treat!
