Angel - AKA "House Panther"

Meet the coolest House Panther, Angel!! Angel had a very tumultuous beginning; her foster parents found her starving to death at a campground in Michigan and have been fostering her for about four months. She is estimated to be about 1 year old. Angel’s favorite things are eating and doing giant salmon jumps to catch a wand toy. After spending so much time in the woods chasing rodents, she is now content to practice those hunting skills with toys while being safely indoors. She LOVES playing, but she can also sit contentedly at a window for long stretches. She has ventured out a few times on a leash since she was rescued, but it is clear that she values the safety and security of being warm and knowing where her next meal is coming from. She likes to be near you but has not gotten to the point of enjoying lap time or being held. She’s not at all feral, she’d just rather play and sit beside you than be held extensively at this point in her life. Her foster parents have been training her to try more cuddles and she is improving, which highlights Angel's strongest characteristic--her adaptability. No matter what you throw at her—car rides, leash training, nail clipping—if she doesn’t like it at first, she just adapts and becomes ok with it. Angel is very gentle and shows interest in children, but her foster parents don't have kids or other pets, so they can’t speak to her skills in these conditions. She is highly intelligent and very food-motivated, and her foster parents easily trained her to sit, shake, and stand up!! She seems to enjoy the brain stimulation she gets from being trained to do tricks, and she also enjoys food puzzles and is great at them. While Angel can handle almost anything that comes her way, she genuinely seems to thrive on routine, stability, and patterns. When you develop a new game with the wand toy, she likes to repeat it over and over until she feels she's mastered it. She has favorite toys of the week that she cycles through, and she will let you know which toy excites her most by meowing loudly when you choose the right one! It's in these ways that her slightly bossy side comes out, but that's when you know she's comfortable and happy. The girl knows what she wants!
