Happy Summer! Kitten Season is in full swing again and we need to make room to get Moms and kittens (and older kitties too!) so we can get them fixed and find them homes! Please consider adopting- especially some of our older residents! Remember you save TWO cats lives and make countless more cats & kittens lives better by adopting! She's a domestic short haired brown tabby & white, spayed female, up to date on her shots, around 5 years old and available for adoption to be an indoor ONLY cat from Griffith Animal Control/Treasured Friends Rescue in Highland Northwest Indiana. Hi, I'm Arden. I've been at the shelter for almost a year, just patiently waiting until someone to notice me and want to give me a home. I don't remember now, but I think did have a home before, but it's been so long I don't remember. A nice person found me outside their house looking in a window at their happy kitties. I was hoping the kitties would notice me since people kinda don't since I'm quiet. I've been at the shelter for a while because I'm quiet and was hiding. I was losing hope that I would ever find a home. Recently a person started talking just to me and asking me if I was ready for a home. It made me so happy! Yesssss! Now people at the shelter pet me and I roll on my back! Also, I've felt like coming out of my "house" at the shelter more. And when I don't other kitties come sit by me and that makes me happy too! I want more pets though! There are other kitties here that want pets too and I don't want to take time away from them, so I'm still a little quiet still. The people tell me I'll get a home soon too, but I know since I'm older I'll get passed over because everyone wants a younger kitty. *Sigh*. I want a home filled with love and affection too! I still like to play and get cuddles. Maybe you'll see me and want to give me my forever home? I'm here at the shelter, so please come by to see me! I like other kitties and to play, so a home with another older or gentle kitty (with the proper introduction) might be good. However, probably NO dogs, but older kids might be okay too. I will probably need a quiet home and a person with patience since I might be a little shy in a new home. I might need a little time getting adjusted and to feel safe I almost lost hope that I'd get another chance! I would love give all my love to someone who wants it and will return it. Our fosters & volunteers work with shy and/or unsocialized kitties everyday to get them used to being pet and to show them no one will hurt them. However, when they go to a new home, some kitties will require extra time to get used to new surroundings and different people. Please consider giving a kittie who might need a little time to get used to a new home, a chance. This is a serious commitment and it sets the kitties back in their level of trust if they are given up after a few weeks or months. Please, only apply if you are an experienced cat owner and have patience. Thank you!
