Auto (FIV+)

Auto is a 1 year-old, sweet and playful cat looking for his forever home! Auto is very food-driven. He loves to cuddle and play. He’s so smart that when you use a pointer laser to play with him, he always ends up figuring out the red dot is coming from your hand. He’s very vocal and will hold a conversation with you (that is, if you don’t mind being the crazy person talking to a cat). That being said, spatial awareness is not his strong suit. If you’re cuddling with him on the bed, he *will* roll over and fall off the bed. He has a medium level of energy. He’s not mellow/sedentary but he’s not hyperactive either. He gets the zoomies once a day, usually in the evening. He doesn’t have any special needs so a standard routine of: eating, changing his litter box, cuddling with him, he’ll take a nap, then you give him dinner and he’ll want to play or zoom around for a bit. Auto loves eating. He also loves looking out the window seeing the birds. He loves his pointer laser and will play with most toys. The foster lives in a studio apartment. His foster feels like he would thrive somewhere with multiple people and where people can work from home. He does well being home alone but he may get bored. He would do best n a spacious home where he can climb and maybe look out a window. A one person home is totally fine, but he could totally adapt well to a home with multiple people. Again, he does well home alone but he’s so cuddly and playful that I envision him on the lap of someone working from home. It is unknown to me whether he does well with other cats/pets. He will bite and scratch (gently) if you touch him the wrong way, so I don’t know if small kids will be a good fit. Because Auto is so food driven, a home with responsible owners who understand the importance of not overfeeding him would be ideal. Also, responsible owners who will be committed to putting away foods that may be dangerous to him. If you are looking for a young, playful cat to add to your home then consider Auto! Auto is FIV+, but that doesn’t mean he can’t live a long, normal, and healthy life! Cats with FIV commonly have average lifespans. Because FIV is spread only through deep bite wounds, FIV positive cats are able to live with FIV negative cats in stable social environments.
