My Story
Please check here for updated adoption hours.
My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!
I am a sweet, shy, older gal, looking for the perfect forever home!
I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.
I am looking for a home with a patient person.
I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.
Bae tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.
A volunteer writes: Sweet, social, mellow, calm, easygoing-our behavior team ran out of adjectives when it came to describing awesome Miss Bae, who arrived at the shelter without much of a backstory. Based on her chill, confident demeanor, however, it seems that this loaf of a cat was a well cared for house pet, one who is super comfortable receiving and giving pettings and making friends with humans. Don't be fooled by her tough-girl photos; Bae is a sweetheart looking for new pet parents to call her own. It can be harder for older gals to find their forever family, and Bae's expression reveals that she seems to know this. But we know the right adopters are out there who sense that our Bae, currently in the cat adoption room, is their bae for life.
Another volunteer writes: Bae is one of many cats who was brought to us when their person fell ill. Being one of many can be a strength, but it can also be a bit of a challenge when we need to put ourselves out there. When Bae first came in, she was a kind and gentle sweetie, but the shelter can be a lot on our soft hearted friends. Considering this, I put myself in Bae's paws for a moment. I thought about how it's a great big world, in fact it sometimes feels a bit too big, and the easiest thing to do can be to let ourselves get lost in the shuffle. I've been there too, so when I see Bae in the back of her cubby, I offer some grace when she slowly backs away. I imagine her explaining she's not looking to make any waves, not looking for anyone to go out of their way, she's only trying to find her place. She could really use the helping hand of a friend as she does this and we hope it'll be you.
