You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Barkley was rescued from the Austin City Pound on 11/17/23. He originally came from the Palleton Company in NE Austin. Unfortunately there are several unfixed cats who have been abandoned and the population has become quite large because of human negligence in this area of Austin. Barkley is a very handsome guy who is shy here at MCHS until he knows you. He is about 2 years old at the time of rescue. He has blossomed since he figured out that people aren't all bad. He likes to be held and has a ready purr with the volunteers here at MCHS. In a new home, we think there will be an adjustment where he will be shy, but with patience, we have seen success happen with this guy! Barkley is now neutered and current on his shots. He has tested neg for feline leukemia and positive for FIV. We are looking for an long-lasting home for this handsome guy. He is about 1 to 2 years of age at the time of rescue. A one pet home might be the best fit for Barkley. Adoption fee is $50. A pet carrier is required and you must be 21 to adopt from MCHS.
