Playful, Loving, Coy
Bella Baxter is a combination of fancy tuxedo elegance and casual cowgirl fun - including furry mutton chops and the cutest leg chaps! This sweetheart is not only extra adorable, she also has many talents. Just to name a few: 1) Curling up into a tight ball that perfectly aligns the snowy white fur on her front paw, neck and back leg; 2) Masterfully performing an advanced three-footed toy catch during playtime; and 3) Plopping herself down for scritch-scratches in such an enchanting way that it never fails to melt your heart!
Bella has proven herself to be brave and affectionate. Although she can be bashful at first, she powered through her hesitant nature when she arrived at her foster home. She was so curious she couldn't resist exploring and, hard to resist getting to know her foster mom who offered loving tenderness and treats! She quickly warmed up to her kind host and is increasingly spending time with people. In the process, she has discovered some wonderful things...like how much she loves pets and cheek and hip scratches, snuggling and purring are right up there too...often done at the same time. She likes having her pretty black and white coat brushed too. And, as you can see, she's not named Bella for nothing!
Bella gobbles up snacks and is very playful. She loves string toys - the ribbon toy is her absolute favorite! She will play with it for as long as you wave the wand around. She's hilarious and silly when she plays...rolling and flip-flopping around, getting on her back with her feet stuck straight up in the air and deftly catching toys while on her back (see three-footed catch above)! She also is fine playing by herself with a ball or stuffed mouse.
Bella is a petite beauty, weighing a mere 6 lbs! She has the best little meows. Her voice matches her size...the tiniest, highest-pitch little mews. She will trill or locator-meow when she's excited or looking for people.
Bella became very attached to her sweet roommate, Tommy Boy, while at the shelter. Two scared cats in an unfamiliar environment found such comfort in one another. When it was time to go to their respective foster homes, Tommy went into his carrier first. Seeing her best friend about to be taken away, Bella ran in after him! These two were not going to be separated if Bella had any say in the matter, which as it turned out, she did!
Sharing a foster home has turned out to be such a gift for Bella and Tommy. They adore each other and boost each other's confidence, which gives them courage and has made them both more willing to trust people. They are so sweet together - bathing each other, happily playing and snuggling together and insisting on sharing the same food bowl, even though they each have their own. We would love to see these two close kitties go to the same forever home. Read more about Tommy here: https://tinyurl.com/y3etne72
Bella would be the belle of the ball in a calm, quiet home with understanding people who will give her the time she needs to blossom at her own pace. Ideally her household would include her best buddy, Tommy Boy. But, she would likely adjust if she were the only cat or in a family with another cat that would like a gentle friend.
Give Bella a chance to adjust in the beginning and she will be loyal, loving and most appreciative of your kindness for life. Contact us for a meet and greet and ask for an intro to Tommy Boy too!
All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
