My Story

It's time to form a covalent bond with Bill Nye the Science Cat! Bill is a social, loving, and active cat. In spite of being sassy and stressed in the shelter, he has relaxed in his foster home and loves to show off his parkour skills. He is a total lap cat who loves fuzzy blankets and finding silly spots to nap (so don't be surprised if you find him snoozing amongst your shoes! In spite of his experiments with tight sleeping spaces, he is also a believer in the "biiiiig stretch" theory and loves to spread out and take over the whole couch. Bill is a bit sensitive to some handling (especially surrounding his hindquarters) - left over from his days as an injured stray- so we'd recommend a calm, quiet, adults-only home for now. He has also tested FeLV+ so for now should remain the only cat in his home. **Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) is a virus that is specific to cats that attacks and weakens a cat's immune system. Cats with FeLV can live normal, happy, healthy lives-with a shorter life expectancy than cats without FeLV. In the past, cats with FeLV in shelters were euthanized as soon as they were diagnosed. PAWS takes a different stance: we enable FeLV+ cats to live out their lives in loving homes. For more information feel free to check out the FeLV FAQs we have available on our website!** Age: 1 - 2 Years How I came to PAWS: Found as a stray Animal ID#: A55771 Location: foster care -- please email my foster at [email protected] to learn more about me! PAWS, the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit animal rescue organization dedicated to saving Philadelphia's homeless and at-risk animals. PAWS is the city's largest rescue partner and provider of low-cost, basic veterinary care.
