My Story

My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children. I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you. I am looking for a home with a patient person. I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some feline body language together! I am really treat motivated. You can use treats to teach me new things! What my friends at ACC say about me: Biscuit is an adult cat that may not have had many interactions with humans from an early age. He is very apprehensive of people and will avoid contact and hiss, or escalate to hard-swatting if pushed. It is difficult to predict if she will respond to socialization and we are unsure if he will thrive in a human home environment. We recommend all attempts to socialize this cat before placing him into a human home, however please be mindful that older cats will require more time and skill in order for them to be comfortable around people. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home. A volunteer writes: Biscuit's a planner. Rushing to the front of his condo with a flurry of questions, he greeted me with an energetic hopefulness for the day. Biscuit has everything to offer and is learning to be brave as he tries to navigate the shelter to find his forever family. I see him as kind of our resident Cowardly Lion. I opened the condo door and he leaped back into his cubby. I quickly retraced my steps, did I do something wrong, did I inadvertently scare him? No, this is just how Biscuit has been figuring things out. With wide eyes and eagerness radiating from the tips of his kitty toes, I offered some treats (those are always on his schedule). Biscuit gobbled them up while talking with me about ideas for tomorrow. He's hoping his forever family will walk through the door and see the cat he is and the cat he can be with a little love and patience. Primary Color: Orange Tabby Weight: 9.1lbs Age: 1yrs 1mths 2wks
