Blarney UPDATE 4-30-2024 Blarney is a funny 6-7 year old Maine coon mix. He is exceptionally affectionate, and he wants to be with you every minute of every day no matter what you were doing. He loves to play, he loves to watch you take a bath, he loves to help you with your work. Blarney can be aggressive with other cats, mostly he is chasing them. However, with proper integration and timely socialization, he has learned to get along with other cats and actually play with them. We would adopt him to a home with other cats but he could easily go to a home as an only cat. Sorry, we do not ship our cats or provide any transportation. All potential adopters should reside in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, or Louisiana. We will not adopt outside of those states. Who We Are: We are a private rescue and privately funded. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, BUT A RESCUE. A rescue is a PRIVATE HOME and not a public place to visit. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/FELV tested, wormed, de-fleaed, and vaccinated prior to adoption. All cats are considered mixed breeds unless otherwise stated. As a rescue, we often don’t know a cat’s origins, and do our best to guesstimate their breed. This is not a guarantee. We do get purebreds from time to time and that will be stated in their description if known. Adoption Process: We require all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application. YOUNG CAT COMPANION POLICY: Unless otherwise indicated, all cats under the age of 3 must go into a home with another cat/kitten under the age of three or be adopted with a buddy. Ragdolls and Maine Coons are physically slow to mature, benefit greatly from the social interactions with another cat and often long for the companionship. Obviously, some young adults not raised around other cats or with more independent personalities may be exceptions to those rules, but that is up to the discretion of the Rescue to assess that need and is not negotiable.
