Buddy

Buddy (M, Est DOB 06/01/2014) came to us from a horrific situation. His previous owner was evicted from her home and living in a local park with over a dozen animals. Our president was made aware of her and her animals and brought her food, water and basic supplies with the hope that she would surrender some or all of the animals to us. The woman was initially unwilling to surrender any of her pets but finally agreed to let our president take one cat - Buddy. Buddy had been locked in a pet carrier for almost three days by that point and was covered in urine, feces and infested with fleas. He was dehydrated and hungry - truly, in distress. Our president immediately got him set up in a clean crate with food and water and arranged for him to be seen by our vet. (She also contacted the PSPCA who immediately responded and got the remaining animals surrendered from the woman and local agencies who worked to get the woman into new, safe housing. ) Buddy was found to be 'at least' 10 years old at his appointment but otherwise, in good health. He was neutered, vaccinated, tested for FELV, FIV and microchipped. Since his rescue, he has proven to be a very affectionate and friendly cat who is SO thankful for his new lease on life.
