Carl

A volunteer writes: I absolutely love Carl! Why? He is a cute little guy(not so little, though at 11 pounds), compact, an adorable tiger with long whiskers and almond eyes that close tight when I speak softly to him. He is a bit shy, likes to stay in his cubby and I used to have to give him a short pep talk before he decided to head bunt my hand, lean, purr or started to play with a catnip toy. Of course, by now, we are well acquaintedand we dropped all the formalities. Sweet Carl was brought to the care center by a Good Samaritan who saw him being hit with a stick in order to chase him from a building lobby. Carl was petrified. No wonder that he is on the timid side...A loving home, a calm and safe environment and understanding new owners will give a chance for Carl to be all what he can be, a wonderful, playful and affectionate young pet. Carl is waiting to start his life with you... My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you. I am looking for a home with a patient person. Carl tolerates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. He will likely need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that he go to a home with some cat experience preferred or at least be well counseled in fearful cat behavior.
