My Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Cathy is a delightful domestic short-haired (DSH) kitten with a slightly diluted calico coat that adds to her charm. Weighing in at just 1 pound, she's a tiny bundle of energy and affection. Cathy was rescued alongside her siblings when their momma brought them to us, and she has been stealing hearts ever since. Cathy gets along with everyone, whether they are young, old, children, adults, seniors, dogs, or other cats. She's somewhat vocal, especially when she's hungry, letting you know it's time for a meal. Cathy's days are filled with playful antics, zoomies, napping, and the occasional unnecessary bath. She loves to play with toys and doesn't have a favorite-she loves them all! While Cathy tolerates being held, she much prefers to be down and playing, either with her toys or her siblings. She's cautious and curious, always exploring her surroundings. Despite her playful nature, Cathy has a gentle and affectionate side. She occasionally cuddles with her siblings and her humans, but she's happiest when she's in the midst of the action. If you're looking for a playful and loving kitten to join your family, Cathy is ready to bring joy and laughter into your home. Cathy is eager to find a forever home where she can continue to play, explore, and be loved. Cathy is from a stray surrender with 2 sisters. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start's adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals. Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats' emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of "Single Kitten Syndrome" (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten's most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.
