Charlene had been running around the house of a Paws Animal Shelter volunteer for a few weeks. The volunteer trapped her and took her to a veterinarian where she was going to have her spayed. Once she was sedated, they realized she had a spay scar and a microchip. They went ahead and vaccinated her for FVRCP and Rabies. The volunteer then brought her to Paws Animal Shelter in hopes of reuniting her with her owner. We were able to find out more information on Charlene from her microchip, such as her name, age, breed, and the contact information for her former owner. Our manager reached out to the former owner multiple times and left messages, but they never got back to us. The microchip company also reached out to them, and also never heard back. It's been several weeks so we have transferred ownership to our shelter and are proceeding with finding a new home for this sweet, beautiful cat. If you are unfamiliar with Bengals, they are not your normal domestic cat. We have reached out to a Bengal rescue group in the state, and they have kindly offered us the use of their adoption application for Charlene, and they are going to help us in reviewing any applications we receive to ensure a good fit for her.
