Duncan

Duncan is only a few years old and has already endured more than he should. He came in to the shelter as a stray and immediately became nervous. He wasn’t aggressive; he just didn’t desire any attention from people and preferred to be left alone.

We thought we were able to get him out of the shelter in time before he got the URI, but he came down with one of the worst cases we’ve seen. He quit eating and drinking and quickly became dehydrated and the infection kept getting worse.

He ended up having to spend 2 nights at the vet getting IV fluids and antibotics. He was also having to be force fed every 2-4 hours. After leaving the vet on the 19th, he has seemed to have really turned a corner in his recovery.

On the 20th he finally starting eating on his own! He also showed the desire for human interaction by climbing into his foster mom's lap and nudging for her to scratch his chin.

This boy is one sweet fellow that really deserves the chance at a happy and healthy life. UPDATE 5/26: Duncan is doing amazingly well now. He is eating hard food completely on his own and will now run to the food bowl when you put food in it. He LOVES having his ching scratched and tilts his head so much that he almost falls over. He is still a little nervous when approached quickly but if getting better.
