My Story

Fiona had been fed throughout the winter months by an elderly couple. They rarely sheltered her believing that cats can survive well outside. We heard from a friend who knew this couple that Fiona was very pregnant. Fiona disappeared under the porch to have her kittens and then reappeared with her brood about one week ago to get some sun. On June 27th, 2007 we went off to find her and spotted her cuddling them amongst the shrubs next to the house. She said not a word as we took the babes one by one and placed them into the carrier, as if she knew she had finally been rescued. Fiona is such a gentle soul and a superb mom. On arrival at the shelter, she proceeded to eat 4 bowls of food and 4 bowls of replacement kitten milk formula. The next day she ate up a storm again and now 4 days later she seems to be on track. Fiona will be spayed about August 15th and the kittens will be ready for adoption about the same time, after they have been vaccinated. Fiona deserves a loving forever home since the first one let her go not appreciating her big loving heart. Note too that it is very rare for an Orange Tabby to be female!
