Hobie is a WONDERFUL KITTEN. Although he is 3 legged, he doesn't know that he's supposedly handicapped, and he is lovable, playful, and sweet as can be.
Hobie and his brother, Hobbit, were on their way to the pound when their finders stopped at a business for directions. God sent them to the one person in the building who did animal rescue, so they never reached the shelter. The two brothers--and another sibling--were dumped on a country road in Williiamston. Unfortunately, the other kitten was killed in the road, and Hobie ended up with a dislocated back leg, which he dragged behind him for who knows how long. Despite his injury, Hobie was a happy, well adjusted kitten with lots of heart. Hobie ended up having to have his leg amputated, since there was too much nerve damage to repair it. This was done on August 25, and he has recovered very nicely. In fact, he doesn't know he has a handicap and he acts just like any other kitten--being playful and naughty and fun loving. Everyone at the vet's office thought he was a wonderful kitten. He is very, very sweet, and loves being held and given attention. He has been good riding in the car, and he's gotten accustomed to the bouncy shepherd mix he lives with.
His approximate birthdate is May 15, 2008.
Hobie's adoption fee is $85, which will include his first 2 distemper combo shots, and deworming. A little bit of the adoption fee will go towards his surgery (which was $150). Hobie tested negative for feline leukemia, and has received a Frontline treatment. He was neutered on 12-23-08.
