My Story

Are you the person we (and Maisy) are looking for? Maisy is a character for sure, so read on! Maisy came to us when she was dropped off due to her family not being able to take care of her. Maisy was so terrified that it took us several days to convince her she was safe, and she didn't have to be so defensive. When you first meet Maisy, you realize that she epitomizes the "Crabby Abby" stereotype - if you aren't patient and cat savvy, this girl will detect it in a heartbeat and treat you accordingly. When Maisy came, she was accepting and liked the other cats, but they started to be mean to her and bully her, so it made it hard for her to relax. Things are going better for her now, but Maisy needs her own person and home! And that person is going to have to be willing to give her time AND to accept that Maisy is a diva, a princess, and a charming and very funny lady with some possible "mean girl" tendencies. She has become an absolute favorite with all of us because we see through the exterior to the scared, hopeful, and loving kitty within. If you are an Abyssinian fan, and understand the breed, then you know her. She will be your company and want to be with you - she likes to supervise. She may not sit on your lap, but she makes her presence known. She is front declawed, so her occasional swat is harmless. Her grumbling is pretty comical. She would be fine with a gentle cat that doesn't bully her. Since Maisy is special, we are looking for a special adopter who understands cats and is willing to give her time to settle in. When she's comfortable, then she's awesome: comical, demanding, affectionate, silly, and never a problem. A quieter adult home is what she needs and where she would thrive. (And yes, she's a bit of a chunky princess!)For more information or to apply to adopt, please go to: https://www.purrpartners.org/adopt/
