Hello, my furiends! Welcome Mama Hen-rieta and her little kitten chicks to the Scruffy Paws Family Farm! Mama Hen is 1 year and 8 months old, and her sweet babies are 12 weeks old. Let me tell you a bit about Mama Hen-rieta! Super mama to her little kittens, Hen is now ready to find her furever home. She has the sweetest disposition but will be shy upon first meet and greet. She needs some time in a familiar place to warm up! Once she does, she will build strong bonds with the people she trusts and grow more confident daily! Hen adores getting attention and pets...and she will roll allll around to ensure you get the right spots! Give her a wink, and Hen will surely wink back with approval! For weeks, she has been watching her babies and learned to play from them - she chases them, wrestles with them, hits balls around the room, and has even learned to like wand toys! And drumroll, please...Welcome - Drumstick! Little Drumstick (black and white, male) has always been the biggest of the crew. He is adorably clumsy! He spends his days wrestling with his siblings, and he really cannot get enough of his sparkle ball toys...so much so that he carries one around in his mouth to every room of his foster mom's house! Wings (all black, male) is a wild child. He wrestles with his siblings, leaps at wand toys, and once he gets that toy mouse in his mouth, he runs around growling with pride. Upon first meet and greet, he seems shy, but then he remembers how much fun it is to play and is back to his wild child ways. And after a long day of kitten activities, Wings transforms into the ultimate snuggle bug! And finally, the little huntress of the bunch - Patty! Patty (tabby, female) is a bit more reserved than her siblings but can hold her own in a wrestling match. Break out the plastic springs and watch her go! Patty is shy around new people and initially hides...but once comfy, her inner wild kitty will come out, and there's no stopping her! Hey there - can't forget Nugget! Nugget (black and white, female) is the most free-spirited kitten! Easy-going and uber-friendly - she will let anyone hold her. Nugget likes to sit on your shoulder and fix your hair. She thinks she is a human and must do whatever the humans are doing. This sweet girl has very little fear of anything! For Hen-rieta, we suggest starting her off in a room by herself until she feels safe and becomes orientated. Hen will be her best cat self in a quiet environment, whether adopted with one of her babies or having another confident, friendly cat in the home. They have not been exposed to dogs or other animals in their foster home. Hen-rieta's Kittens must return to Scruffy Paws for future vetting; therefore, out-of-state applications require excellent vet references. The adoption fee for Mama Henrieta is $175, and her kittens are $250 each. Applications looking to adopt a pair of kittens will receive priority. If adopting a single kitten, another cat should be in the home. Thank you for being so interested in adopting from Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue! All adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, microchip, rabies, and distemper vaccinations, proof of FIV/feline leukemia testing, flea treatment, deworming, and an exam by a licensed veterinarian. Our shelter hours are by appointment only and are not open to the public. Many of our cats and kittens are located in foster homes. An adoption application MUST be submitted and approved before meeting our cats/kittens. We do this for the safety of our fosters and potential adopters. Our adoption process includes the following: 1. Adoption Application To be considered for this cat(s) or kitten(s), you MUST complete an adoption application: - Through our website (preferred) at www.scruffypawsanimalrescue.org/ - Email a copy to [email protected] - Drop off a hard copy to either of our partner PetSmart locations (Johnston or North Smithfield) - Mail a hard copy to Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue at 2944 Post Rd. Warwick, RI 02886 2. Veterinary Reference Please call your vet ahead of time to give permission to release records to our adoption team. Out-of-state adoptions typically require an exceptional veterinary reference and are at the discretion of our adoption team. 3. Proof of Home Ownership OR Landlord Approval The landlord's contact information must be provided if renting so our adoption team can seek approval. 4. Home Visit Please make sure you are located in our vicinity. We are based out of Warwick, RI. Due to COVID-19, we are currently doing virtual home visits until further notice. **Please note: Our volunteers try their hardest to contact every applicant in a timely manner but are often overwhelmed with a high volume of applications.
