My Story

Marge - Female DOB 5/8/2021 Domestic Short Hair Dilute Tortie - Meet Marge! Miss Marge, a lovely dilute tortie, was surrendered to a southern shelter with her two equally plump sisters after their elderly owner entered a nursing home. Her weight might be hereditary, or she may have been fed high-calorie table food or only dry food. Under a veterinarian's care, she would benefit from a weight loss program. Surprisingly, she isn't a big eater and nibbles at her dry food, eating a small amount of wet food a couple of times daily. Marge has a sweet, mellow personality and doesn't care to be around other cats and seeks out a place to be away from them. Though she's not much of a cuddler or lap kitty, she does love to be close to her person at night, either on the ottoman or bed. She loves to be petted and dole out headbutts, but she doesn't like being picked up and will scold you loudly lol (without biting or hurting you) if lifted, likely because it scares or discomforts her. Marge is a talkative girl and will talk to you to let you know she wants to be petted. She comes up to you and rubs against your legs, and will come up beside you when you are sitting to be petted, but doesn't quite know what it's like to actually sit on your lap. Miss Marge would be happiest as your only kitty. She hasn't had experience with dogs or children but might be fine with a calm, cat-friendly dog and older, respectful children. If you're looking for a sweet, independent companion who enjoys quiet company, Miss Marge is the girl for you.
