My Story

Marie was adopted when she was a baby kitten, along with her sister Dutchess, to what appeared to be a good family. They promised to keep Marie and Dutchess indoor only. A few months later, the cats were allowed to go outside. Dutchess was killed by coyotes on their property. Marie was lost. It's been five years and we never knew what happened to Marie. About two months ago, Marie was found by a nice person on the street and unfortunately, she was barely alive. She was taken to the shelter, where it was discovered that Marie had severe kidney failure, probably from starvation. Kitten Rescue stepped in immediately and gave Marie all the medical care she needed to make a full recovery. Now Marie is perfectly healthy, sweet, gentle and a little shy at first (probably because of the trauma she endured). She is extremely affectionate once she knows you, she has a very loud purr, and she has an adorable little bird "chirp" she uses to communicate all the time. Marie would probably do best as an only cat because of her shyness, but she's great with people of all ages. Please open your heart and home to this sweet and loving little girl, and give her the safe home and family she so deserves. Her front legs were shaved for the IV she had in the hospital, but her fur is growing back! Please contact the foster at [email protected]
