My Story

If you are interested in any of the cats available at New Leash Rescue, you can reach out to the foster listed below for more information and then complete an adoption application which can be found at https://www.newleashrescue.org/adopt/policy. Please email the completed application to [email protected] Marley is a two year old Tuxedo short hair who came to us from a home that had too many cats. There were 20-30 cats in the home and New Leash was able to assist with taking 9 of them. When Marley came to us, his fur was thin and patchy. He was so stressed in his prior home, that he was pulling out his own fur - and if things get too stressful for him, he will start doing the same thing again. Marley needs a quiet home, where he can flourish. He is good with other submissive, laid back cats - and seems to do better with females than males. Marley will do best in a home without dogs and with kids age 9 and up. An approved application is required to set up a meet and greet with Marley. Vet references are checked on current/past pets looking for regular exams, up to date on FDRC and Rabies, and altered status. Adoption fee is $230 + tax (no checks) Email [email protected] for more information. Our fosters do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament while in foster care in their home. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home. Sometimes there is more that comes out about an animals personality once they have been able to settle in a home and truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption, discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.
