Marshmallow

Meet Marshmallow! This distinguished gentleman has come a long way in the last month of being in our care. Marshmallow was found in Ridgefield Park amongst a group of six friendly (likely dumped) cats. Two young girls noticed the cats showing up in their yard, began feeding them and reached out for help. Sadly, Marshmallow's friend Arnie who we also scooped up first, succumbed to his illnesses within his first few days off the street. Marshmallow was able to be trapped the day after we lost Arnie and we got him just in time. He had a terrible eye injury, a mouth full of decaying teeth and visible wounds on his body. Bola was seen by RBARI vet staff and had his eye removed, most teeth removed and also got neutered in quick succession. Then began his true road to recovery. Two weeks in a cone did not deter this boy's spirit at all. Despite everything he'd gone through, he remained sweet and simply wanted a warm, safe place to recover. Now, almost a month later he is done with his cone and getting used to being a handsome one-eyed pirate. Marshmallow loves to be pet, eat Churu treats and cuddling up on the couch next to someone who loves him. Recent bloodwork indicated that Bola is in the early stages of kidney disease, which will be another medical journey he'll embark on. This boy is approximately 8 years old and deserves the rest of his life to be far different than whatever he experienced prior to us finding him. Marshmallow has so much love to give to whoever ends up being his forever family. He seems content as a single cat, however we feel that with the proper introduction he could do well in a multi-cat home.
