Meeko

Are you or your kiddos looking for a cat who acts a bit like a dog? We say this because Meeko has been taking short walks out twice a day in his foster’s front and back yards with a harness and a lead. (To make things easier now just a harness. Meeko just likes to wander and doesn’t seem to want to go far.) Meet Meeko! Meeko is named after Pocahontas' pet raccoon from Disney's 1995 animated feature Pocahontas. He has rings around his tail just like a raccoon! This handsome (celery green eyes, soft fur and dashing markings), squishy, but also athletic, fella is looking for a forever home and is available through Feline Underground Network. He has just turned 5. Meeko is absolutely FANTASTIC with kids…he loves to sleep all night in bed, he loves to chit-chat and play with his automatic toy. He’s been around dogs and other cats. But we hear he wasn’t thrilled with the dog and he has shown some aggression with his foster family’s cats. He has also gotten along just fine with some of their cats. They have noticed a lot less aggression since they started taking him on mini-walks. Meeko should possibly be considered an ONLY cat as he has shown aggression towards some cats. Please note, he has not shown any aggression towards the foster humans, ever, at all. Fully litter box trained. His fosters recommend a larger litter box with high sides. Why is Meeko up for adoption? Meeko’s family (single mom and 2 human siblings) lost their apartment and have had to move in with relatives. The public housing they are applying for will not allow pets. We stepped in the day before he was to be Shelter Dumped.
