Background: Mia was pulled during one of our big rainstorms from a construction site. One of our volunteers oversees a colony of cats near there and TNR’s any new cat that shows up to keep the population under control. Mia was scared, hungry, wet and asking for help. She was pulled from the colony, fostered and she has become a wonderful, social, grateful little girl! Mia is very playful, loves to talk, LOVES to sunbathe, loves perching in windows and purrs a lot. She would prefer to be the only cat, but with time, patience and correct acclimation, we believe she would do well with another kitty. We don’t know how she would do around dogs and her personality is such that she would probably really enjoy kids who are cat-experienced. Mia takes a little bit to acclimate, is a little skittish at first and warms up to her surroundings....we are having her experience every noise we can think of indoors. She likes to have a safe space so if she gets nervous, she can retreat until she is sure it's safe to venture out again. She is so silly and loves to be up and in your face, so she doesn't hide for very long! She definitely had it rough on the streets, but once she bonds with you, she is a character! She loves to rub all over your legs, lay on your lap and talk up a storm.
