Minerva

Minerva is a 12 year old kitty who came to ACCT on 5/31 after being found as a stray. Upon intake Minerva was noted to have multiple medical issues including aural polyps and bacterial otitis, and need for multiple dental extractions. While in our care she has been treated for her polyps and her body condition has been steadily improving, however she still requires multiple dental extractions. Behaviorally Minerva has been very sad and shutdown in the shelter. She remains wary of human interaction and needs ample time to warm up to people and allow handling. 7/1 per staff: Minerva is a sickly senior who's body condition is improving, but is not really able to be handled at this time. She still needs dental work, per the notes on 5/31. But very sad in the shelter, and has been here for a while. 6/18 per vet: AD polyp removed and suspected secondary bacterial otitis has been resolved. Low body condition is improving. 6/10 per staff: Opened kennel door very slowly to pet Minerva with my pen. She tolerated it for a minute, then ran to the other side of the kennel and buried her face in her litterbox. 6/7 per staff: Escaped the kennel and bit a staff member on the finger. 5/31 per vet: Chronic bacterial otitis and large aural polyp AD, Retained right and left maxillary canine roots, many missing teeth, Emaciation at intake, bloodwork consistent with starvation (likely due to poor access to food outside given lack of dentition). Will set up in surgery for aural polyp removal once cat's condition has improved.
