My Story

Minnow is a very sweet cat who had a rough start in life and needs a family who understands his special needs. Unfortunately, his first family did not have the time or means to take care of him, and he arrived into our care severely underweight and shaved due to poor skin care. He has a severe case of Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH). This is an underdeveloped cerebellum that is a birth defect from his mother being severely ill when she was pregnant with him and his siblings. CH does not reduce a cat's life expectancy or immune system. He did sustain a tail injury, which resulted in a tail amputation, so he only has a stubby tail. Minnow's CH presents with the inability to walk, but with physical therapy, he has been able to stand and take a couple of steps, overall, his mobility is a bit floppy. He is good with the litter box as long as it is nearby. Minnow may benefit from being an only cat, or second cat in a retired or work-from-home environment.
