My Story

I'm a handsome, 4 year old, short-haired "cowcat". I was living on the streets, chowing down with a group of scaredy cats when a lady brought me to a shelter because I'm a nice guy. They gave me 'the operation' (you know the one), and while there, I tested positive for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus). Now, I'M not worried about my FIV+ status -- I plan on living a long and healthy life -- but sometimes people are afraid of what they don't understand. So I was at the shelter for a LONG time and boy, was I sad. Then, HOORAY, a nice man adopted me and I was SURE I had my forever home, until my new friend lost his. I'm in a foster home for now, and I'm OK, but would I love one more chance to be loved by my own family! If you were to fall in love with my easygoing, gentle and huggable personality, you wouldn't have to worry about my FIV+ status either. To learn the truth about FIV, read here - www.bestfriends.org/theanimals/petcare/cats_fiv.cfm - it's called "Catching a Bad Case of Rumors", and it's called that for good reason! So you see, there are endless possibilities for me. I can live as an only cat because I love people. I can share a family with a kind and gentle dog. And yes, I can live with another cat, even one who is negative for FIV, as long as he "plays well with others," as I do!
