Meet Sylvester!

At nine-years-young Sylvester may have used a few of his nine lives, but he still has plenty more to share with his new family. This friendly and sweet cat has recently been through a lot and is looking for a quiet home where he can settle down.

When Sylvester came the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA our veterinarians noticed he had a growth on his back right leg. Unfortunately the growth was cancerous and Sylvester’s leg had to be amputated.

Sylvester is working hard each day to conquer both the effects of his amputation and obesity with moderate exercise and a special diet. Always looking on the bright side, Sylvester doesn’t let his handicap get in the way of socializing with his people friends.

Sylvester will do well in a quiet home with older, respectful kids and other gentle cat or dog friends. Of course, Sylvester also wouldn’t mind being the only pet in his new home either – that way he could get all the attention!

ADOPTION INFORMATION:

All SDHS pets are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and microchipped prior to adoption. Please note that in order to make the best match possible, potential adopters must come to the Society in person to meet with an adoption counselor and complete the adoption process. All members of the household (including other pets, if possible) should be present to ensure the chosen pet is compatible with everyone. We do not place holds or do adoptions over the phone and we do not ship pets.
