Blossom is completely deaf, while Benny appears to be able to hear some high-pitched sounds. They are both extremely affectionate puppies who just want to play play play. They are NOT house trained. Blossom is the mischief-maker of the two, while Benny is a bit more serious. Both of them love everyone they meet - dog, cat, human.
Deaf dogs are a joy to work with. They obviously require safe fencing, but they learn more quickly than hearing dogs - perhaps because they are so visual. The deafies we have placed in the past have learned a multitude of hand signs very quickly, and most strangers do not even realize the dogs are deaf. There are some great websites out there to help you with this. By and large, deafies appear to be more mellow than hearing Jacks - perhaps because they are not being bombarded with exciting sounds all the time. They DO tend to be very visual and light-aware.
Benny is located in Olympia, Washington. His adoption fee is $150. and he will be neutered prior to placement.
