Meet Buddy. Buddy is being surrendered by his owners because he is not doing so well with their new baby and they want him to live in a home where he will be loved and not have to compete for attention.
Buddy is very affectionate and loves attention! He is very attached to his owner and will stay by your side every minute of every day. He loves to be around people more than other dogs. He is very excitable when other people come over to the house. We have been working with him on jumping up on people but he still does it to new people. He is protective over food, treats and toys and like many of his breed type, likes to bark when excited. He just loves to be with you and loves to be shown affection.
Buddy's current owner have indicated Buddy would do well with the following type of environment:
1. With a couple or single person (with no children). He loves constant attention and is VERY needy
2. In a home where he'll be loved and adored!!!!!
3. With someone who is VERY EXPERIENCED with dogs and preferrably someone who is experienced with poodles. He is very lovable and affectionate 98% of the time. 2% of the time he can be unpredictable (e.g., try to grab something and then growl and/or bite to keep it). Buddy definitely needs to be with a person(s) that understand dog behavior and can train him on these issues.
4. Placed in a home without children
5. In a home where the owner is the "alpha dog", to help eliminate his possessive nature.
6. Ideally, placed as only dog but no more than 2 other dogs in the home. He likes attention.
7. In a fenced in yard so he can run around, get exercise and have fun
8. With someone who is home most of the time and someone who knows how to properly take something away from him (that he shouldn't have).
In the right home and with the right type of leadership, Buddy can be a good and loving boy. Please give him a chance. His current owners love him and will miss him but they know their home is just not suitable to his personality.

Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $175, or $200 for puppies plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.
We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. With few exceptions, we show our adoptable animals on Saturdays from 12pm - 3pm at Petco in Novi (on Novi Rd south of 12 mile) or Petco in Farmington Hills (Orchard Lake south of 14 mile). Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).
Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.
Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
