My Story

Hi, my name is Calliope but my friends call me Kylo. I am a little firecracker of energy that will bring so much love and silliness to your home. I’m very food motivated so I love to be told to do things while getting treats in return, I take them very gently, even my foster brother who is a little hooman child gives them to me from his hand! I love people so much that I may get jumpy, it’s just how I express how much I like you. But I will listen if you tell me no and you don’t like it I would make a great partner in crime. I would be up for any adventure and not to mention I love a good car ride. I’ve got so much energy that you could take me for a hike, swim or even a run around the neighborhood. My least favorite thing to do is be on the couch like a potato, but I will eventually give in if my humans decide it’s not time for an adventure. I am great with kids, other dogs, and strangers, but my limits have not been tested with cats yet. I have a foster family who loves me and thinks I’m the most beautiful girl in the world. Which is why they are helping me on this journey to find my forever home. I may be small, but my energy and the love I give is mighty. --------------------- About our process and fees Our application: https://laststoprescue.com/adoption-app/ If you're interested in donating, sponsoring or volunteering please visit us at www.LastStopRescue.com or follow us on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/Laststoprescue.il! We treat these dogs as individuals with needs and to that end all of our dogs will have been in fosters no less than two weeks, they will have at least started training if not attend weekly classes and get daily training at home with the fosters! Which means our longest residents will be the best trained, as long as they're with us we're going to keep socializing and working through any issues they may have. When you adopt from us you will have a very clear picture of the dog you're meeting and on going support! Our Fees are as follows: Senior dogs over 7 are $450 Adult dogs are $650 Puppies under 1 year are $800 Specific breeds are $900 With each adoption you will be... 1. Given up to four hours of free training (from the foster and coordinator), a. Some dogs require additional free training hours before they can go home. 2. Full medical report of all findings, 3. All of the supplies needed for a new dog as we attain these for the care of each dog, 4. A full run down on their behavioral status, where they started, where they are and how far is left to go. This will be detailed in a training plan from us about what they can or cannot handle well and it will be discussed as much as needed! 5. On going support post adoption as long as needed! We fully vet all of our dogs which is reflected in our adoption fee. On average we will pay about 600 dollars in medical per dog. Every dog gets a full blood panel, fecal/urine check, heartworm & tick panel and treatment if required, spayed/neutered, all shots and boosters, along with anything specific to their needs.
