Charlie * Adopted

ADOPTION PENDING****Charlie already has a long sad story in his short life. Rescue was contacted months ago by a man that wanted our help in placing his dog & he planned on bringing the dog to a nearby shelter...the dog's name was Charlie. We called the man to find out where he was going to bring Charlie but never received a call back. That was almost 5 months ago. We had no idea what had become of Charlie. Then one day as I searched Petfinder I came across a dog listed as a pointer/shepard mix that surely looked like a GSP. Turns out he is a GSP but has a long tail and we're almost certain its Charlie. He was found stray nearby the Bloomfield shelter. Turns out his owner turned him loose there when another shelter wouldn't accept the dog because he wasn't a resident of that town. So, this poor boy has suffered in the shelter since September until we found him!!! He is now out of the shelter & safe & sound with one of our volunteers who will be giving him all the love & care that he needs until a home is found. Poor Charlie was going kinda stir crazy in the shelter so he's going to need some time to adjust to life on the outside but once he's completely vetted, puts on a few pounds and is given a clean bill of health he'll be ready to go to his new home. He's a young sweet boy that will need a large fenced in yard to run...run...run!!! As all GSPs love to do! He already knows sit and listens pretty well. Since he's been in the shelter for months he's going to need time & patience from his new owners..but once he's given lots of love & adjusts to being in a home again he'll surely become the perfect GSP he's meant to be. We're not sure how he is with other dogs & kids yet but that information will come soon.
