My Story

2/9/09 What a difference a week makes! Chelsea is adjusting to life in a home and doing really well. She is learning to respect her foster brother and not jump on his head to get him to play! She is just about 100% on housetraining now, and with her new harness she walks like an angel on the leash. She is so curious about cars that she has to watch them come all the way towards her and drive all the way away from her. She is working hard on being more respectful when the humans have food and not being such a crazy face-licker. As long as she stays tired she stays calm in the house so physical activity is a must for this little girl. She is going to make a terrific pet for her new family!

2/3/09 Chelsea is a little cutie who especially loves to give kisses - in just a few days she has come a long way - she didn't start out with a lot of house manners but she's learning what the word "down" means. She is doing great with house training - cold weather works wonders! Chelsea is VERY food-motivated and knows where every avenue is to get to the people food. Once she realizes that she will get consistent meals she should settle right down with that. She is a little skinny so needs some good healthy meals. She has some energy to burn but doesn't know too much about playing with toys yet. She's interested in them but doesn't know what to do with them. She comes when she is called to you and is eager to please. Chelsea probably would do best as an only dog because she can be bossy with her foster brother. She might be a little exuberant for very young children but she loves people and is motivated by attention. She didn't know much about walking on a leash but is making progress on every single walk!

1/27/09 Chelsea is coming to Maine this weekend into foster care. She is approx 35 lbs and a doll. We can't wait to meet her and provide more info and new pictures!

1/5/09 Chelsea was found as a stray in a trailer park in the south. She is afraid at the shelter and could use a foster or forever home to show her that people are good and won't abandon her again. She has a beautiful short-haired brindle coat and appears to be just about a year old. **All our pets are at one of our partner shelters in the south unless marked "In Maine" or "In New England". We can bring her north if you'll agree to foster or adopt her. **
