My Story

Chewie is the perfect blend between active and lazy dog. He is about 9 years old Pomeranian mix who is a smart boy and has so much love to give. He is great on a leash and is learning to "leave it" when it comes to passing other dogs and people. During the first week of fostering him he learned several commands. He is very food motivated, smart, and easy to train. His one big walk a day is about a half a mile and leaves him feeling extra lazy after. He will wake up whenever you wake up and is very flexible with his schedule. He still has bursts of puppy energy, but mostly lays around the house and enjoys a few minutes of pets here and there. Chewie is also potty trained and goes outside almost 100% of the time. He is trained to use a pee pad if he can't hold it, but rarely uses it. Chewie's ideal home would be with someone patient and consistent. He would thrive in a calm, chaos free environment. He is not a fan of children or other dogs/cats so ideally it would be a home where he is the only pet. Someone who would teach him new tricks and keep his brain stimulated would be a wonderful fit. He is a little hesitant to meet new people, but with plenty of treats he will settle in quickly. Apply at pawsfurhope.org/adopt Home visit required.
