Rescued from the Colville National Forest, about 60 miles north of Spokane, WA in 2003. He was abandoned there. He moved to Alabama and then to Washington, DC. with his dad then. heI changed jobs in early '09 and the new one has him on the road about 8 months of the year so cannot keep Chili. Chili is currently back in Spokane, WA with a good friend who is dealing with some life issues, has 2 other dogs and two horses, so she is overloaded. Chili is a very sweet dog whose only issues are his love of digging and his shedding. He loves to run, swim, bound through snow, and chase squirrels more than anything but is also happy lazing around the house and taking naps. He used to walk him with his leash off and he’d stick around 10 meters to him. He can also go to the park and go off his leash and inside the boundaries. Chili is housebroken, good with other dogs (he does like to play with them), ambivalent towards cats and kids (although he likes to be petted so kids who provide that service he's positive towards.). Chili has been barking a lot since moving back to Spokane but his friend (and I) think it’s because she lives out in the country and he hears coyotes at night. He never used to bark. He weighs about 75 pounds and is pretty tall; his head comes up to about waste level. ONE NICE BOY looking for a family that has time for him. He is over the silly puppy stage and has lots of years left. He is just in his prime. A real friend who needs a forever friend that will give him a forever home.
