My Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Chipley is a happy, 30 lb, 3 1/2 year old male spaniel mix, low rider ready for a home!
Although he reminds us of a rockhopper penguin, he is indeed a gentle and loving young dog. Past the puppy stage, but still has the eager-to-please temperament that will make him a good fit for a family with animals.
He is housebroken and crate trained. He hasn't had any accidents! He sleeps soundly through the night in his crate, but is eager to greet you in the morning and have his breakfast!
No signs of guarding over toys, treats or food. Speaking of treats, he sits and accepts them gently, waiting his turn.
He walks great on the leash and rides happily in the car. He did very well during bath time!
He recalls wonderfully, running back with a smile. He hasn't shown any interest in trying to leave the yard. He likes to explore the perimeter, take in the smells, pee on everything and then pee on it again!
He has been nonreactive in the presence of cats.
Chipley is heartworm positive and needs neutered, which the rescue will cover the costs of. We will be employing the slow-kill method for treating his heartworms, which means he gets his monthly hw preventative until he tests negative.
His foster mother says "Chipley has been a pleasure to foster, showing deference and respect to the people and dogs in my home!".
Chipley has been fully vaccinated but needs to be neutered before the adoption can be considered as final, which follows the rescue organization's guidelines. The adoption fee includes what was already done of all shots, dewormer, and microchip and will cover the cost of the neuter.
He can go to his permanent home now, but the adopter must be willing to take Chipley to a rescue veterinary clinic for the neuter. Our facilities are in Riverview, Brandon, St. Petersburg, and Sarasota. 4 Lucky Dogs will set up the appointment and the adopter just needs to transport to and from and then take care of him during recovery.
Chipley's adoption fee is $500. He is currently being fostered in the Plant City area.
