My Story

Chisel is back with us at HCACC. This is what his previous owner had to say about him ***Loving goofball who doesn't know how strong and big he is.*** ***VERY SWEET boy with a velvet nose who seems to love everyone.*** Good with children but is too rough right now for small ones. Doesn't seem too interested in cats. When he does try to play, he's just too rough. Doesn't seem to mind storms. I don't know what his injury was - it's not obvious. He can run like a bandit and jump on the bed. Barks at new people, especially men wearing hats...not sure if he's barking because of the other dog or on his own His favorite things: a good butt scratch treats a scratch behind his ears while you tell him how handsome he is treats running with other dogs and playing in the back yard treats sleeping and snuggling Things Chiz does well: Knows sit very well - especially if there's a treat involved. He's very gentle when taking food by hand, even treats - a small child can handfeed. I can take food away from him and he just look sad - no growling or negative reaction. Crate trained - eats and sleeps in a XL wire crate(42-48"). Happily goes in the crate for a treat. Mostly house trained - Not ready to say completely since he's often crated. He has not messed up in the crate - he will whine to go out. Things he needs to work on: When he gets excited he still jumps up to tell you how happy he is. He may also jump up on you and push off as if he's playing and can easily push you over.
