Cloudy Rainbow

Hey Petlovers! There is no need to visit an overcrowded city zoo this summer to see the cutest land hippo available because he is right here in foster with us at ELO rescue! Cloudy Rainbow, affectionately called Cloud in his foster home is a 80 lb hunk of love and affection. This four year old boy spent some time in the ACC after being found as a stray roaming the Bronx but even those hardships couldnt dull his light. Cloud spent his entire time at the ACC as their dedicated office dog! He was socialized daily with humans and animals of all kinds and was the perfect dog for the job. Cloud was pulled into rescue in late May 2024 and transitioned into foster life seamlessly. Cloud is a lover of all people and often wants to express his love with a big hug, gently jumping up and holding you around your waist while giving you kisses and asking for pets! Dont worry though, if hippo hugs arent your thing, just tell him "no" or "down" and he will stop before he starts. Cloud is 10000000% housebroken and handles his business quickly. Cloud is dog friendly and kid friendly and has exhibited no prey drive - his foster mom suspects he would do great with cats or other four legged friends. Cloud is a gentle soul with teenagers and adults often approaching them and laying his head in their lap when he's unsure what else to do with his body. He's also happy to squeeze into the smallest of spaces, especially if it is your lap! Cloud's forever love however are kids! He loves kids of all ages but because of his size and excitment would do best in a home with kids 8 and up! Cloud knows multiple commands such as sit, stay, law, down, no and paw. He often will sit next to you and put his paw on your knee just to show he's grateful for you. Cloud is crate trained, not destructive and pretty quiet boy although he is a vocal player with humans and other dogs. After spending so many months in the shelter, Cloud's excitement for outside is robust and he is currently working on his loose leash manners so would do best with someone committed to his leash training. His current foster weighs about as much as he does and can walk him alongside her resident dog, no problem because she is committed to doing it right. If you are looking for a soft velvet ball of pup, Clouds your boy and you should absoltely apply to meet him and become his forever home!
