My Story

Clyde: • Age: 2 years • Temperament: Gentle, playful, and energetic. • Interaction with People: Clyde is a confident Shepard who's only a little skittish when touched unexpectedly. His reaction to unexpected touch is to dart away a couple of feet and then return. There is no growling or attempts to defend himself. He isn't shy when meeting new people and gently takes treats from the hand. • Interaction with Dogs: Like Bonnie, Clyde is friendly with other dogs, and if provoked with a growl he simply walks away without incident. • Triggered Behavior: Like Bonnie, Clyde is triggered by cats and small animals. His alertness and focus are remarkable. • Separation Anxiety: Clyde’s bond with Bonnie is strong. He becomes anxious when separated from her and seeks comfort in her presence. His anxiety when away from Bonnie isn't as severe as hers is but it is definitely present. • Food: Like Bonnie, Clyde has no food aggression whatsoever allowing Bonnie and us to be in his space while eating with no issues. We can remove his bowl from him and return it without care. Ideal Home: Bonnie and Clyde would thrive in an active household where they receive plenty of exercises and mental stimulation. A securely fenced yard would allow them to play freely without triggering their prey drive. Additionally, they need a patient and understanding caregiver who can address Bonnie’s separation anxiety.
