Coop *Adoption Pending*

Pupdate 6.24.24 Cooper continues to make wonderful strides in his foster home and we wanted to share some updates on this sweet boy's progress. Personality and Behavior: Cooper is a lovable, friendly dog who adores people, dogs, and kids. He has learned to respond very well to commands like sit, lay, and stay. However, he still needs to be on a leash or in a fenced area when outside as his recall with the command "come" isn't reliable yet. Cooper sees an open door as an invitation to explore, so it's important to have him sit and stay when opening doors to prevent any sneaky escapes. Daily Activities: Cooper enjoys going for walks and playing with toys and other dogs. He has a particular fondness for squeaky toys, which he plays well alone with a human or another dog. Despite his playful energy, Cooper also loves to curl up on his dog bed or on the couch if he's allowed. He is very strong and still needs some work on his leash manners, as he tends to pull towards squirrels, bunnies, or other dogs he wants to greet. Car Rides and Daycare: Car rides are a joy for Cooper; he settles down quickly and often falls asleep. He loves going to doggy daycare, where he gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is adored by the staff. They are always surprised that he hasn't been adopted yet, as he is such a special boy. Training and Comfort: Cooper is comfortable in his kennel and will go in willingly when prompted. This helps him settle down when left alone. He is working on being left alone outside the kennel however he is constantly on the lookout for your return. Feeding and Handling: Cooper has shown excellent behavior around food. He has been fed alongside another dog and is fine with humans putting their hands in his food and water bowls or touching his mouth and feet. He is food motivated and loves to receive treats for training! Overall Temperament: Cooper has a balanced energy level. While he loves to play and go for walks, he can also relax and settle down when his humans are working, watching TV, or cooking. He thrives on human interaction and loves being part of daily activities. Next Steps: We believe Cooper will continue to thrive with consistent training and love. He is a fantastic dog who just needs a little more practice with his recall and leash manners. Cooper is ready and eager to find his forever home where he can continue to be his sweet, dopey, and loving self. Cooper would be a wonderful addition to any family looking for a loyal and affectionate companion.
