My Story

Copper (03-118) is a dark red & white boy from the Paulding County shelter. He's 2 years old and is very skinny - only 32 lbs. Apparently he's been severely neglected, and he acts as if he's never been in a house before - not even understanding what a dog bed is for. Copper has recovered from kennel cough and is now neutered and ready for adoption. This boy is very sweet and smart - learned the dog door in record time. He has a large head, so he could be a 50+ pounder when he fills out. Copper is very loving and playful and is just starved for attention - likes to snuggle his head in your chest. He's working on housetraining, fattening up, and learning to play appropriately with people. His new game is "Keep Away" where he takes his rope bone and darts around you as you try to grab it. Copper really doesn't like being in a crate but will tolerate it for short periods. He gets along fine with other dogs and with the 11 & 12 year-old children in his foster home, but since he can be a bit "mouthy" when playing, small kids are not recommended for him.
