Dahlia

Dahlia (aka Dahli/Dolly) came to us from an over crowded shelter in Kentucky. She was a new mom and was terrified of everything and it was obvious that staying in a shelter was not a good option for her or her puppies. A quiet place was secured for her and her family here in Ohio so she was transported north to raise her pups in peace. She has been in foster with her puppies since they were a week old and she has come a long way. Dahli was a very young mother and still has a lot of her own “puppy energy” that will need to be bridled. She jumps, she pulls on a leash, and she “nibbles” on people when she’s excited. All of these behaviors are things that can be worked out with consistent training. Dahli is still nervous around new people but she does warm up eventually, and once she trusts you, she loves you to pieces! She would be best as an only pet so that all Of the attention is focused on her and her training, however, she does have potential with other dogs - as long as they can match her energy level. She does NOT like cats! Dahli loves running, wrestling with her friends, and chewing on her bones. She is crate trained but she’s a super smart girl and is known To be an escape artist. It is recommended that she go to a home with a tall privacy fence as she has learned how to climb out of a chain link fence. All of Dahli’s puppies have been adopted but she is still looking for her forever home.
