I'm a tricolor Bluetick Beagle/Blue Heeler mix with adorable white spots. I'm a 5-7 year-old spayed female, weighing around 25-30 pounds. I've been fully vetted and I'm heartworm negative. I might be a bit shy at first, so please go slowly when picking me up. Once I feel safe, I'll let my guard down and trust you completely. I walk well on a leash and am doggy door trained. I'm also very food motivated, so I'd probably be easy to crate train if needed. I do best with calm environments, so I'd be happiest in a home with older children (around 12 and up) or calm adults. I get along well with other dogs and enjoy playing, though I sometimes act like a mom or herder, running to correct them. I've played with a few younger pups who take my direction well. As for cats, I'm not sure how I'd react, but I'd probably chase if they run. Feeding time is special for meI'm used to being separated from other pups during meals. I take treats well, especially if you offer them on a flat hand like a horse. At bedtime, I love sleeping in my foster mom's bed with 3-5 other pups. Sometimes I'll come up to cuddle, but I mostly love getting under the covers. It's my favorite! If another pup walks by while I'm asleep, I might bark, but I take corrections well. My story is a bit sadI came from a trailer park in Anniston, AL, where I was one of about 100 pups trying to survive. When the trailer park was sold, the new owner planned to kill the pups, but I was rescued just in time. Now, I'm ready to find my forever home where I can feel safe and loved.
