My Story

Daisy found a super new home with a family who loves her sweet face! She now lives in the country with children who adore her, and another dog who looks similar to her. Sounds like it watch a match made in heaven!

Since we are volunteer run, pet specific questions through email cannot be answered -- please call during open hours. Before inquiring or applying, you must carefully read all our application / adoption rules by clicking HERE.

Since our dogs are exercised in huge grass kennels with a compatible buddy, they do get dirty this time of year so we highly recommend you request the dog be groomed prior to going home.

$50 adoption fee includes vaccinations, worming, vet exam, microchip, 1 free month of pet insurance & many pets are already spayed/neutered!

Daisy is a shy but super sweet girl weighing about 60#, so medium to large. She was adopted from us to a great family only to be returned to no fault of anyone, only her breed instincts. Originally she was part of our Care Bear pups & was named ShareBear. She is about 9 months old now, never abused, but can be shy, moreso of men. She's by no means a terrified dog, just shy in the begining. We were told when she came in with her litter, they were a mix of just about every breed around & they all looked drastically different. She looks like a miniature wolfhound, otterhound or deerhound. She has tall legs making her kinda 'goofy' looking, wirey looking hair that is softer than you normally feel in a dog of her breed, and fuzz all in her face. She looks like one of those dogs you see in the commericals homeless & standing in the rain...is there someone out there falling in love with her face?

Daisy is completely housebroken we're told, loves to be with her family, knowns commands & is a great dog despite the reason they had to return her...she has the 'herding' instinct which makes us think she has some border collie or similar breed in her, which doesn't show in looks! She was great in the house and calm, but when outside and excited in play she 'nips' as a herding dog would. It's something that would not have been such an issue, except they had a very small child who was at risk. If you know herding dogs, they do not do this out of aggression, it's simply out of instinct. She's an angel otherwise & needs another great home, just without small kids who could be injured when everyone is playing. She is smart & would do great in a dog class, which would also help her with being shy in meeting new people. If you're looking for a big baby to sit on your lap on the couch, go for walks, and pamper, please consider Daisy who almost grew up in a shelter as puppy simply because her wirey look and her being black.

Please remember to call in questions. And again, you must carefully read our application / adoption procedure before inquiring & applying by clicking HERE.
