Dane

Dane is the master of the puppy dog eyes! This sweet little guy was brought to the Allegan Shelter with a group of dogs after being abandoned. The whole group was in pretty rough shape, but are all looking and feeling better in the care of the shelter staff. Dane is now neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations/prevention. He’s ready to move on to his new & improved life! The medical team estimates Dane is about 4 years old. Dane is a sweet, sensitive guy who isn’t loving shelter life. He loves anything that gets him out of his kennel, but especially sitting outside and relaxing with a human friend. He has been loving the nice weather and the sunshine. Sadly, Dane was not given regular heartworm prevention prior to his time at the shelter as he tested positive upon intake. The shelter team utilizes the slow kill method which is effective, noninvasive, painless, and inexpensive! His adopter will be required to continue treatment. Dane is a very good boy who could join a family that already includes other dogs and/or kids. He gets along with most dogs and would love a playmate when he’s done with his treatment! If there is a dog in the home, we’ll schedule a meet and greet to ensure they’re a good fit. Of course, we always recommend slow introductions and supervision of new dogs.
