My Story

Video 1: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Oc0ey4ukPfk Video 2: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/pddXAgtPkq0 Daphne is a beautiful black lab who has spent all of her young life in a shelter. She came to the shelter as a puppy and is now 1 year old. The shelter was about to turn into a kill shelter so we got her out so she could have a chance at life. She has been enjoying every minute here at the rescue playing with her doggie friends, rolling in the mud for the first time ever, going on walks in grass instead of concrete for the first time ever, playing in the kiddie pool for the first time ever, and having more space than just a 4x6 kennel for the first time ever. She is definitely a little shy/timid with me at times but 100% loving and friendly. She is very smart and learns quickly and has adjusted well to her new environment already even though it's only been a few days. She walks well on the leash and does well in the crate. She has been great with all dogs from large to small and even tiny puppies and she has also not bothered the cats one bit. She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but she can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take her in or she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue/reviews Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Seattle/Tacoma) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Illinois (Vandalia) - Indiana (Spiceland) - Ohio (Columbus) - Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) Vetting: spayed, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 2, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative) Adoption fee: $550 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Optional extra: All dogs must be kept on heartworm prevention for at least 6 months following transport because of the heartworm development cycle to kill any larvae that might present and do not show up on a heartworm test (thus puppies under 6 months don't even get tested). This is a monthly pill and she will have been given one close to transport. However, there is also the option to give a one time shot that lasts an entire year. This shot costs $150-$190 (based on weight) and is NOT included in the adoption fee but can be added if you choose to. This an added option for those who do not want to have to go to a vet within a month of arrival to get a prescription for the monthly heartworm prevention.
