Deacon

Deacon is an 8 year old Dalmadoodle (DNA confirmed! 58% Poodle & 42% Dalmatian.) He is a tall boy that weighs almost 70 lbs. He currently is being fostered in a house with teenagers and another dog. Previously, he lived with cats and dogs, so we won’t exclude him from being considered cat-friendly either. He is friendly with other dogs and does well with them, but enjoys doing his own thing. He is not a dog looking to be a playmate for another furry friend - he wants to be your best friend! What he truly loves is getting attention from people. He loves to be talked to and petted and will lay patiently waiting for your attention. Deacon is house trained, crate trained, rides in the car well, and walks good on the leash (however is excited by squirrels). He enjoys playing with a squeaky ball, going for walks, and above all else being petted by his people. Deacon is being fostered at a house with a fenced yard, but after doing his business wants to remain close to his people and will not require a fenced yard. Deacon has been calm in the house and happy to lay on the floor while we are busy or on the couch with us for cuddles. He knows sit, paw/shake, come, and is working on lay down. He does amazingly well with having his ears cleaned, bathing, and brushing. He does have a coat that requires grooming. He is ready for a forever home after having been given up from somewhere he wasn’t loved.
